McDonald's Football Coach of the Year Competition

7/5/2016

McDonalds and New Zealand Football are to recognise junior football coaches by running a Coach of the Year competition, with the National winner receiving a trip for two to the FIFA World Club Cup in Japan.

Every year over 6,000 coaches volunteer their time to help kiwi kids “kick start” their football dreams.  They spend their weekends coaching local teams and making sure children get active, develop their football skills and, most importantly, have fun!

Nominations are encouraged for positive behaviour both on and off the pitch, including supporting players positively from the touch line, introducing new players to the game and helping out in their local community.

Regional winners will receive a coaching equipment pack to use for training/ games and will be entered into a draw for the national winner.  The national “Coach of the Year” winner will receive the amazing football experience in Japan, including a behind the scenes look at Auckland City FC’s preparation for the world’s premier club tournament.

Nominations can be made by visiting www.nzfootball.co.nz/juniors and downloading the nomination form.  Nominations will be open until August 12th, with the regional winners to be announced the following week and the National Winner on August 26th.
