Ranui Swanson Football Club come from humble beginnings, and was formed in 1979, with no club rooms and only 4 teams playing during that first season on less than perfect pitches.
A dedicated committee, together with club volunteers, struggled through those early years and gained permission to erect a garage on Starling Park. Once the Starling Park Sports club was formed which was a union between Football and Softball (Waitakere Bears Softball Club), a small and minimal club rooms was established. These club rooms were a constant target for both vandals and graffiti; and after many years of serving the growing club was unfortunately burnt to the ground by an arsonist after Christmas in 2005. Fortunately the spirit of the club was strong and the phoenix rose from the ashes to become the brand new facility we call home today. Today, our thriving club has 32 teams, including competitive and social senior men's and women's divisions, who proudly wear our black and gold strip. We look forward to you joining us.
