Ethkick West is a community event celebrating West Auckland's cultural diversity. It is an opportunity for people from different backgrounds and different parts of the West to come together for a day of food, live music and friendship through football. Ethkick West is organised by Community Waitakere in partnership with Auckland Council, Northern Football Federation and NZ Police, supported by Ranui Swanson Football Club, the Waitakere Ethnic Board, Sport Waitakere, the Human Rights Commission, West Local Boards and The Trusts Community Foundation.
Northern Football Federation has just annouced its first annual Federation Community Awards to acknowledge the valuable contributions made by its affiliated clubs and members.
Each year, Northern Football will send out a Call for Nominations to all affiliated club and members for the upcoming Northern Football Federation Community Awards. Any person that meets the current award eligibility criteria may be entered for consideration. Eligible entries are for achievements, stories or contributions that take place between 1 January and 31 August in the current year. Nominations close 5pm, 31 August 2016! To submit your nomination or to read the eligibility guidelines, please click HERE RSFC are pleased to announce the launch of their adapted football programme in conjunction with the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation. The adapted football programme is the first of its kind to be launched in West Auckland. This is a great opportunity to learn football or enhance your skills. The programme is open to 5 -14 year olds with a physical impairment who are either ambulant or use a walker or sticks for mobility. Read our flyer for more details. McDonalds and New Zealand Football are to recognise junior football coaches by running a Coach of the Year competition, with the National winner receiving a trip for two to the FIFA World Club Cup in Japan. Every year over 6,000 coaches volunteer their time to help kiwi kids “kick start” their football dreams. They spend their weekends coaching local teams and making sure children get active, develop their football skills and, most importantly, have fun! Nominations are encouraged for positive behaviour both on and off the pitch, including supporting players positively from the touch line, introducing new players to the game and helping out in their local community. Regional winners will receive a coaching equipment pack to use for training/ games and will be entered into a draw for the national winner. The national “Coach of the Year” winner will receive the amazing football experience in Japan, including a behind the scenes look at Auckland City FC’s preparation for the world’s premier club tournament. Nominations will be open until August 12th, with the regional winners to be announced the following week and the National Winner on August 26th. The boys won the last Chatham Cup game 7 - 0!! Next Chatham Cup game is 6th June at Starling Park at 2pm versus Waiheke! This year our club is running a chocolate fundraiser, with all funds going back to the club for football development. Boxes of chocolates can be collected this week from the club from our Club Secretary, Deb Gosshawk. We have some great prizes up for grabs for everyone who participates.
Prize 1 The family that sells the most boxes of chocolates will win a BRAND NEW BMX BIKE!!! Prize 2 The second chance draw is for all families that get there chocolate money in by the closing date, and will win a BRAND NEW BMX BIKE!!!
